Funding for the Ratledge Professorship was provided courtesy of the late Edward L. Ratledge, who received his bachelor of science in agriculture from UD in 1942 and who worked in research and development for the Sun Oil Company.

Barbara Habermann, PhD, RN, FAAN Nannie Longfellow Professor of Nursing School of Nursing, College of Health Sciences Research: Improving the quality of life and end-of-life care for persons and their family members living with chronic, progressive neurologic illness, particularly persons with Parkinson’s Disease This named professorship was bequeathed by Nannie V. Longfellow.

Emily Hauenstein

Unidel Katherine L. Esterly Chair in Health Sciences 

Research: health disparities with a specific emphasis on the causes and treatment of major depressive disorder among disadvantaged women.
This Unidel Chair honors Dr. Katherine L. Esterly, a long-time friend and supporter of the University, died in 2015. Her legacy continues in many ways including this named chair position and the Katherine L. Esterly Nursing Education Scholarship endowment in the College of Health Sciences that was established in 2006.

Veronica Rempusheski

Jeanne K. Buxbaum Chair of Nursing Science
Nursing

Research: Elder care within a family context, including elders with dementia, family caregiving and grandparent-grandchild relationships, three and four-generation families and ethnicity/ethnic identity.
This chair honors Dr. Jean Kitenplon Buxbaum, a UD alumna who was a generous friend of the University until her death in 2003. Her husband was the late Dr. Edwin C. Buxbaum, professor emeritus of anthropology.
